Remove a claim

Claims can be removed from a patient's profile if they are expired or no longer in use.

There are two ways to remove a claim from a patient profile:

  • Delete: Removes the claim information completely and cannot be reversed. Available only for claims that have no appointments, referrals or invoices linked to it. Suitable for instances such as adding a claim to the wrong patient or adding a duplicate claim record.

  • Archive: Retains the associated information (such as invoices and appointments) but renders the claim inactive and cannot be used. An archived claim can be restored. Suitable for instances when previous claim information has expired.

Delete or archive a claim

  1. Open the patient profile and click the Funding tab.

  2. Under the Claim & Referrals section, expand the selected claim, then click the Icon-Bin.svg bin icon.

  3. In the pop-up, select Archive or Delete.

  4. To confirm, click Archive or Delete.

When you archive a claim, a new active claim for the same funding body with the same details is automatically created. To enter the current claim details, click the Icon-Edit.svg pencil icon.

Restore an archived claim

  1. Open the patient profile and click the Funding tab.

  2. Under the Claim & Referrals section, expand the archived claim, then click the Icon-Bin.svg bin icon.

  3. In the pop-up, select Restore.

  4. Click Restore.
