Set up passkeys

Passkeys are a secure and convenient way to log in to your Halaxy account without relying on traditional passwords. Instead of remembering or entering a password, you can use a passkey linked to your device, such as your phone, tablet or computer.

Passkeys are generated in the form of a biometric authentication - fingerprint, facial recognition, device PIN - making it easier and safer to access your account.

How passkeys benefit you and your practice:

  • Faster and easier login with your device's built-in authentication

  • Seamless access across supported devices and browsers

  • Stronger security against phishing and unauthorised access

Note

You can only add passkeys for your own account. Users cannot set up passkeys for other accounts.

Add a passkey

  1. Click Settings > Users.

  2. Next to your name, click the Icon-Settings.svg cogwheel icon.

  3. In the pop-up, click the Passkeys tab.

  4. Click Add Passkey and follow the prompts on your device to register the passkey.

  5. In the pop-up, give the passkey a name. Recommended: Keep this label device-based (e.g. iPhone, Work Laptop) and avoid labels that describe the passkey itself (e.g. Birthday).

  6. Click Save.

You have successfully registered a passkey for logging into your Halaxy account using this device.

Note

If you want to create multiple passkeys from different devices, you must log in to Halaxy with each device and follow this same process.

Log in to Halaxy with a passkey

You can only use passkeys to log in using devices with passkeys registered with your Halaxy account.

  3. Authenticate your passkey for the device you are using - whether it's a fingerprint, PIN or face ID.

Tip

If you are not able to log in with your passkey, you can still log in to your account with your email, password and 2FA. You can then delete and re-add the passkey for your device.
