Guide to two-way syncing between Halaxy and Xero

When you set up your Xero integration in Halaxy, this allows your invoice transactions on Halaxy to automatically reflect in your Xero account. The integration also gives you the option to enable two-way syncing, where your Xero invoice transactions sync through to your Halaxy invoices.

Note

Xero's two-way sync is only applied to invoice payments.

Enable Xero two-way syncing

  1. Click Settings > Payments.

  2. Under the Accounting section, next to your Xero integration, click the Icon-Edit.svg pencil icon.

  3. In the pop-up, next to Two-way syncing, tick the checkbox.

  4. Click Save.

You have successfully enabled two-way syncing of invoices between Halaxy and Xero. Any transactions in Xero invoices automatically reflect in Halaxy invoice.

Caution

Avoid double-ups! If you have invoice payments that automatically reflect in Halaxy (e.g. scheduled payments), you do not need to mark these as paid in Xero.

Ways to setup

  • Default invoice syncing (Halaxy to Xero)

    • When you connect Halaxy to Xero, your Halaxy invoice transactions are replicated in Xero.

    • If you add transactions or edit invoices in Xero, these changes do not sync across to Halaxy.

  • Two-way invoice syncing (Halaxy-Xero both ways)

    • If you enable two-way syncing, invoice transactions in Halaxy are synced in Xero invoices.

    • If you add transactions or edit invoices in Xero, these changes also sync across to Halaxy.

  • Xero only syncing (Xero to Halaxy)

    • If you enable two-way syncing but switch off Sync invoice payments, only your Xero transactions sync across to Halaxy.

    • Any transactions or invoice edits in Halaxy do not sync across to Xero.

Things to consider

  • Are you using any automated transactions on Halaxy?

    If you have automated transactions for your Halaxy invoices (e.g. payments and rebates), make sure to keep your Halaxy to Xero sync on so you won't need to enter those transactions in Xero and you can prevent double entries.

  • Do you need to edit payments on invoices?

    You cannot edit an invoice payment entered in Xero on a Halaxy invoice. If you need to edit a Xero invoice payment, you can only change it in Xero and it will update in Halaxy.
