Who can do this?

Managing documents just got easier. Halaxy offers a free, built-in feature that creates clear, concise summaries of your uploaded files, whether it's patient test results, referral letters, or other clinical note attachments.
With AI File Summary, you can:

Streamline your workflow and reduce manual reading.

Stay organised with summaries available right inside your Halaxy account.
You can generate file summaries for files attached to different areas in Halaxy.

Patient Profile - General tab

Open a patient profile and on the top, make sure you're in the General tab.

On the bottom-right, you can find the Attachments section. Look for an attachment you'd like to get an AI summary for and click the Actions dropdown and select Summarise with AI. (Note: If you have no attachments here, click Add Files to upload one.)

In the pop-up, select an AI template from the dropdown and click Summarise. A summary will be generated in a few seconds.

(Optional) Select a template from the template dropdown and click Re-summarise to generate a new summary with the selected template. You will still be able to check the original file summary. To create a template, see Managing Halaxy AI templates.

(Optional) Click the
pencil icon to edit the AI summary manually and click Save. You will still be able to view the original file summary by clicking on See original AI summary at the top.

Click Close to close the summary pop-up or
bin icon to delete the summary entirely. Click Summarise with AI again if you want to open the file summary.
You have successfully created an AI file summary of your patient's attached file in the general tab.

Patient Profile - Clinical Notes tab

Open a patient profile and on the top, click on the Clinical Notes tab.

On the left, select the attachment from the list and click Summarise File with AI.

In the pop-up, select an AI template from the dropdown and click Summarise. A summary will be generated in a few seconds.

(Optional) Select a template from the template dropdown and click Re-summarise to generate a new summary with the selected template. You will still be able to check the original file summary. To create a template, see Managing Halaxy AI templates.

Patient Profile - Funding tab

Open a patient profile and on the top, click on the Funding tab.

Under the Claims & Referrals section, click
plus icon to expand a claim and find an attachment. (Note: if you have no attachments here, click Add Files to upload one.)

Click the
magic wand icon.

In the pop-up, select an AI template from the dropdown and click Summarise. A summary will be generated in a few seconds.

(Optional) Select a template from the template dropdown and click Re-summarise to generate a new summary with the selected template. You will still be able to check the original file summary. To create a template, see Managing Halaxy AI templates.

Organisation profile

Open an organisation profile.

On the bottom-right, you can find the Attachments section. Look for an attachment you'd like to get an AI summary for and click the Actions dropdown and select Summarise with AI.

In the pop-up, select an AI template from the dropdown and click Summarise. A summary will be generated in a few seconds.

Fax

Click Contacts > Fax Messages.

Select a fax message from the list to open.

In the Fax Details section and under Actions, click the
magic wand icon.

In the pop-up, select an AI template from the dropdown and click Summarise. A summary will be generated in a few seconds.

(Optional) Select a template from the template dropdown and click Re-summarise to generate a new summary with the selected template. You will still be able to check the original file summary. To create a template, see Managing Halaxy AI templates.

Setting a default template for each AI tool helps speed up your AI automation by automatically selecting the correct template to use.

Navigate to Settings > General.

Under the AI Settings sections, click the
pencil icon for Default AI templates.

In the pop-up, select a template under the dropdown for the desired AI tool.
Caution
If you do not see the AI template you want to use in the dropdown list, the template may be Inactive or belong to another category. You can review your templates in Settings > Clinical > AI Templates tab.
