Delete SMS message content from a patient

Who can do this?

Account owners only

If a patient accidentally sends sensitive information by SMS, such as personal or payment details, you can delete the content of that message so it no longer shows in their contact history. This keeps that information out of the patient's record.

Delete SMS message from patient

  1. Open the patient's profile.

  2. Under the Contact Details section, click the Icon-Bubbles.svg speech bubbles icon to open the message history.

  3. In the pop-up, click the SMS tab.

  4. Next to the message you want to delete, click the Icon-Bin.svg bin icon icon.

  5. In the confirmation message, click OK.

You have deleted the content of the SMS message. The message now reads [content removed] and the bin icon no longer shows next to it.

Caution

Deleting the content of a message is permanent. You can't delete the content of SMS messages you sent to a patient, or SMS messages linked to appointment reminders.
