Recording patient allergies is essential for ensuring safe and effective care. In Halaxy, you can add the allergy information to a patient's clinical record to help you avoid potential adverse reactions and improve decision-making. Additionally, this information is easily accessible in the clinical sidebar.
Tip
You can easily add and track other types of health records - such as problems, diagnoses, or immunisations.

Open the patient's profile.

On the clinical notes tab, click on New Clinical Note.

Click Add Record and select Allergy.

On the note, fill in the following:

Substance: Enter the substance and select it from the dropdown.

Type: Select whether the patient's reaction to the substance is an allergy or an intolerance.

Onset (optional): Enter the month and year of the approximate date when the allergy first occurred.

Severity (optional): Select the severity of the allergy or intolerance.

Reaction manifestation (optional): Enter the patient's reaction/s to the substance and select it from the list.

Clinical status (optional): Select the clinical status for the allergy or intolerance.

Verification status (optional): Select the verification status for the allergy or intolerance.

Comments (optional): Enter any additional information related to the allergy or intolerance

Click Save to save your progress and Publish to finalise the record.
You have successfully added an allergy record for the patient.
When tending to your patients, it is crucial to provide updates on their information to keep track of their status. Accurate allergy records help prevent adverse reactions and ensure safe treatment decisions.

Open the allergy record.

At the top or bottom of the record, click on Add Update.

In the pop-up, enter the following that has an update:

Severity (optional): Select the severity of the allergy or intolerance.

Reaction manifestation (optional): Enter the patient's reaction/s to the substance and select it from the list.

Clinical status: Select the status whether the allergy is active, inactive, or resolved for your own clinical record.

Verification status: Select the verification status to support or decline the clinical status of the allergy.

Comments (optional): Enter any comments relevant to the allergy.

Click Save.
You have successfully updated an allergy record.
Note
Adding updates to a health record is only available when the record is published.

From the clinical sidebar, click on Settings.

In the Users list, click the group name (if you want to enable for your group sidebar) or your name (if you want to enable only for your own sidebar).

Under the Sidebar section, click Edit.

In the pop-up, turn on the toggle switch for Allergies. To reorder the tabs, click and drag the
up and down arrows.

Click Save.
The Allergies tab is now available on your clinical sidebar, displaying the patient's allergy records and history.
Tip
Once you have enabled the Allergies tab, you will be able to add new records directly from the sidebar by clicking on + New Record.
