Set up your clinical sidebar

The clinical sidebar gives you quick access to key patient information right beside any clinical note. With a sidebar that displays your most frequently referenced data, everything you need is one click away.

Sidebars may be configured at a group level, which applies to all practitioners in your practice group. Practitioners also have the option to set up their own custom sidebar, which overrides the group default.

Setting up the sidebar helps streamline your workflow and keeps your focus on your patient. It's a simple way to make consultations smoother, faster, and better informed.

Customise your clinical notes sidebar

  1. Click Settings > Clinical, then click the Sidebar tab.

  2. In the Users list, click the group name or user name to set up a sidebar.

  3. Under the Sidebar section, click Edit.

  4. In the pop-up, configure the following:

    • Status (group sidebar):

      • Enabled: Apply these group settings for anyone using the group default sidebar.

      • Disabled: Do not display a sidebar for anyone using the group settings. Custom sidebar settings for individual users still apply.

    • Status (individual sidebar):

      • Use group default: Apply the group default sidebar settings for this user

      • Custom: Apply custom sidebar settings for this user

      • Disabled: Do not display a sidebar for this user

    • Sidebar content: Click the toggle switches to select which tabs to show or hide in your sidebar. To re-order the tabs, click and drag the Icon-Arrows.svg up and down arrows.

  5. Click Save.

You have successfully set up the clinical sidebar.

Add a custom tab to clinical sidebar

  1. Under the Sidebar section, click Add Custom Tab.

  2. In the pop-up, configure the following:

    • Tab Title: The name of your custom tab that appears in the sidebar.

    • Icon: The icon that represents this custom tab in the sidebar.

    • Description: A quick description of what information this tab displays. This is visible only when editing your sidebar settings.

    • Active: Use the toggle switch to show or hide this tab in your sidebar.

    • Content Type: Select the information you want to display in this custom tab.

      • Template: Display data from all published clinical notes using the selected template.

      • Sections and Questions: Display data from specific sections and/or questions used in any published clinical templates. For example: If you select the Weight question, this tab will display all responses from any clinical template where this question was used.

  3. Click Save.

You have successfully added a custom tab to your sidebar.

Disable the group sidebar for all users

By default, user sidebar settings are set to use the group default.

  1. Click Settings > Clinical, then click the Sidebar tab.

  2. In the Users list, click the group name, then click Edit.

  3. Set Status to Disabled.

  4. Click Save.

Any user using the group default sidebar settings will no longer be displaying the sidebar tabs. Sidebar tabs may still be displayed for users with their own custom sidebar settings.

Note

To remove the sidebar completely, users must also deactivate or delete their favourites as well.
